Dear Garry and All,
Many thanks to everyone that attended the IWCS meeting last weekend in Collinsville, IL. There were over 26 members in attendance, I can’t say we kept a 6' social distance but masks were worn by all.
Garry, thank you for putting this together, and to all that helped prepare. The American Legion was the perfect venue!
Thanks to all that donated wood for the auction, I believe Patti said it brought over $750 plus $100 for the sale of one of the Koa tables built by Mike Lueking. I don’t remember ever seeing so many items on the auction table. I started counting the different species of wood, I got up to well over 30.
Garry and Amy did an outstanding job as auctioneers, I have a hard time believing it was Amy’s first attempt at this.
Once again, I was blown away by our Show and Tell. Beautiful works of art by our talented members as you can see in the photos below. Everyone looks like they’ve been keeping busy during this unusual time of the COVID virus.
Shelley Roux moved that we donate $500 to IWCS by our Gateway Group, seconded by Denny Krupinski, approved by all. Before the wood auction we had $750 in the checking account. With major IWCS events postponed this year, the club is in need of all the help they can get.
The meeting was a huge success, it was so good to see everyone again, this really is a special group of folks for sure. For those that could not make the meeting, we missed you and hope to see you next time.
Warm Regards,
Violet Oman
